Aspen at the airport
Sorry we have been delinquent on blog posts for those of you that are still following. A lot has happened in the past week! Up until a week ago from today, we planned to arrive in Illinois on Friday (the 12th). But, then a week ago (7th), Laura received a call asking if we could have our stuff delivered in Batavia on Tuesday (the 9th) morning at 8 AM. Well, that shook things up a bit. We were planning to just have somebody else meet the movers at the house, but since we had never been in the house, that was a bit overwhelming to us. So, we booked a last-minute plane ticket for Laura to fly out late Monday night. This was all contingent on Aspen not having oxygen anymore since she would not be allowed to fly with oxygen. And, the doctor appointment was at 2:30 on Monday afternoon. If you are following the details here, you will realize this was crazy. But, again God provided. Aspen did very well without the supplemental oxygen, so she left the doctor that day breathing all on her own. Laura got home after 4 from the doctor and a friend took Laura to DIA at a little after 6 PM (thanks Kacie!). My trooper wife had her flight delayed and didn't get to the house here until about 4 AM on Tuesday. The movers showed up a bit before 8. She then proceeded to direct traffic with the movers on about 2 hours of sleep while caring for Aspen. Pretty impressive. Thanks much to Mom and Dad Lanser who slept in their car while waiting for Laura and Aspen to arrive in Chicago, and then spent a day and a half moving things around in the house. The other kids and I drove her most of the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. And, thanks also to Mom and Dad Sharda for helping us the rest of the weekend as we continued to unpack. That was a massive project, but on Sunday night, finally feel like we have a house that is livable and we can find things like towels and other important things like bikes :).

Unpacking can still be fun
A pre-Halloween party- happy to have dress up clothes again!
The heat and humidity are kicking my butt, but we are very thankful for A/C. Off to my new office tomorrow to hopefully get us into somewhat of a routine with our new lives.
Sorry, I don't know how to turn the pic. ;)
We continue to appreciate prayers as we make this big transition and for Aspen as she continues to grow. By the way, she is now eating like a champ and even appears to have a double-chin now. Awesome!
I don't understand why you didn't have time to post!😜
